I actually bought this name for development; not knowing it had any traffic. Only when I parked the domain did I realise that the domain gets traffic, and considerable traffic at that.

Sedo Stats for the last 7 days…

08/23/04 539 Views
08/24/04 592 Views
08/25/04 463 Views

Is the traffic stable?
I only have the above stats so I don’t know for sure. That said, I have owned the domain for about a year, and even after this period of time the domain still receives decent traffic.

Can you post a link or screenshot of the stats?
I will do better than that; interested parties will be allowed to test the traffic on there own servers (if they wish).

Where does the traffic come from?
NetProwler – Network Security software offered by Symantec – this is where I suspect the traffic comes from. The software is no longer current, associated trademarks have expired. I also suspect the traffic is mainly of US origin, but could be wrong. Most of the traffic is probably direct typeins from people who have purchased the software in the past – very few links according to MarketLeap.com

Why are you selling?
The traffic doesn't seem to convert well at Sedo. All of my domains are at Sedo and I don’t want to get involved with another PPC company, as most of my domains perform well there. I’m sure this domain could make good $$$, either parked at another PPC company or in association with an affiliate.

What is your asking price?
Open to offers at the moment. All offers to need be over 1k as the name by itself is very strong, think of NetCrawler.com – tons of potential.

I guess because of the quality of the name and traffic, not to mention the development potential

Removed from sale pending further investigation into the origin of the traffic. Two members have tested the domain and on both occasions the domain hasn’t yielded the quantity of traffic suggested by the Sedo Stats – I’m starting to wonder if Sedo’s stats are wrong for whatever reason.

Bottom line is I don’t want to sell a traffic name which turns out not to be.

Thank you to all members who enquired about this domain and/or submitted offers.

Very commendable Rob.
If it helps.....when I owned that domain it was getting about 40 daily uniques. If you weren't promoting it, or actually have a site on it, I would definately say something may be screwy with those stats.

you obviously have no idea of how the domain market works. There are other factors that gets one to get to their asking price. Your comment doesn't belong in a sales thread either.
