There are enough fixed bugs and enhancements that I'll be pushing out a new build this weekend.

Also, the Early-Adopter offer will absolutely end at the end of the month, as I mentioned at DNJournal in the article.

Starting September 1, I go into heads-down mode on getting 1.1 done for a September 29th release target.

And then on to 2.0, which will simply blow you away (if I say so myself).

1.1 will have the link popularity checkers, overture tree-walking, compound-word separation checking (as in, get the overture and other metrics on the two components of a compound word), and a number of tools that "standard" domain search programs have that are relevant to the drop.

Also, depending on the timeline, I will be adding biz/us/org/info to the available lists. There is about a 50/50 chance that they'll be ready for 1.1 on its release, but if not, it will follow within a week or two. It'll be close.

I haven't decided if I will raise the price at 1.1, especially if my source data doesn't change what it costs me to acquire.

It certainly has potential if it works the way that you say that it will. I just paid. I seem to recall that there was a support forum somewhere - so feel free to direct me there. A couple of questions not in the docs:

How does "regular expressions" work?
What does "Exclude IDN" do?
What is "Regex"?

There is a DropShark forum that I put up quickly at forum.dropshark.com

Regular expression (regex) is a very complex but very powerful search language. It's on the "things to do" to write a tutorial on it for those who have never used it.

"Exclude IDN" excludes the bq-- and xn-- names in which the vast majority of people have no interest. :)

I paid for it some time back without even downloading the demo or nothin. Haven't tried it yet, but would bet bigger bucks that this thing is gonna be great and save me a lot of time. Way I figure is that somebody with Christophers huge ego has got to back it up or die tryin. Look forward to using it as soon as I can get my girlfriend to plug the thing on this ma-chine. Got her busy wiring up my new dvd player thingy first though.

I am happy to recommend DropShark (on behalf of myself, not DNF...) to anybody that is on the fence.

I use it every day in tandem with my favorite drop-catching strategy, and it works beautifully. I look forward to all of the future enhancements, but honestly, it is a great program as is.

Almost all application errors on startup are because .NET isn't installed, or has a problem. Microsoft really biffed error reporting in .NET in a huge way. I'm trying to find out how to write a stub loader to check for problems, but I'm not having much luck at it.

Try re-installing .NET Frameworks 1.1 complete.

As for my ego... well... what did you expect?! :)
