house.info It did well for several years, and suddenly got penalized. Now it loses money, partly because Chitika doesn't pay well, and main reason: SE rankings are bad. it is the same site which was liked by users and Google. Maybe you can find what is wrong with it.

yes. it is a clean site. All scripts come from ppc ads. Disable javascript. it still works.

You should probably start over, dump the chitika ads, they are crashing my browser, and put your content back above the fold.
It's going to be a combination of issues, but if problems started between November 2011 and April 2012 it's Penguin/Panda Quality score issues.

Very little content or information for Google to go by. Just looks like a load of links and no real context. Start by creating an about page, some intro text on home page and a blog. Havent checked your tags but assume it is compliant otherwise.

Thanks, it has mayday penalty. May 2010. It had adsense at that time. It was Google's idea to move adsense up. Adsense remained there for about one more year after the ranking penalty, and then adsense ban. No explanation. So we suspect it is not about updates, it is manual penalty, just to make trulia and zillow king. this is why we didn't work very hard to find and fix a problem, because penalty came when we didn't make any change. it is possible that we got better rankings than deserved in early days, but now we don't deserve such big penalty. Hiding text, link buying,... nothing like this. trulia and zillow takes mls data and other data from different sources and they are considered original content and not duplicate of anything. They may be useful, very useful; but it looks like they are a little bit artificially promoted: rankings given manually. if they buy links, hide text, will they get penalty? I don't think so.

your architecture was once good
but the internet moved on so it isn't so much,

and you got away with scraping duplicate content for a long time.
but you have been penalized for it now.

We don't try to benefit from subdomains. URLs look better with subdomains. Everything becomes more logical in our case. .......... Chitika has problems. We can't fix this. Ads load slowly. JS is evil. Things should work without JS when JS is not on. JS is used to track users using flash , 1 pixel images,... Penalty came when we were not banned form adsense yet. For some period of time we had no ppc ads . .......... There is old content but it is users' problem. There is more original content in older ads than new ads, because most of freshest ads are posted automaticaly by middlemen, who also post similar ads on other sites creating external duplicates. Also users can remove their ads anytime. Sometimes (and this happens hundreds of times) users edit/ refresh their ads, by property changing price etc. ............ We never never ever did/do scraping. We never steal content. We never steal anything. Either others steal from us, or some users post the same ad in more than one site at the same time. Some sites were systematically stealing our content (maybe they stil do); and we reported them to Google; still they ranked well and we were banned. ............ A likely scenario: Spammers link to us, although we don't link anywwhere; we are punished. There are junk real estate sites linking to us, and only to us. We can't remove them because we don't own/control them. We report them, but maybe the person who is supposed to check that spam report is responsible for that spammy linking to us; and has stocks at trulia/zillow.

So back in the days when users posted nice original content, your site ranked?
but now people post lost of duplicate junky content it dosent.

This wont affect you.
Its known very well it wont even though a few that cant pin down what real problems they have still wish to blame this.

We don't do any unethical thing. We don't steal content. We obey all webmaster guidelines. We can't remove user ads only becuase the same ad is posted at another site by the same person. We remove content which have external duplicates only if they are posted by spammers. A site can be penalized if bad sites link to that site. Google needs to show good sites near top, but if some good sites are banned this is probably not a problem, because an average user won't complain about it. Noone will submit a anti-spam report, except owner of the banned quality site. If one million people are killed, if it is not on the news, who cares. Why is android not open source, and closed source like windows. it is a mistake to associate google with ethics, and banned sites with being unethical. google may be overall a good search engine, and that is all.
