Looking for feedback on realty.org.uk. I don't have much experience with the european domains so checking with the board.

Thanks in advance.

The term "realty" is not really used in the UK - it's an american expression. $30-40.

Have to agree about realty.co.uk seemingly a great name but being lower value than most would think due to the uk ext. However, $30 is extremely low and way off-base, IMO. I would peg it at about high 4 figure to low 5 figure as a co.uk, 6 or 7 figure if a com.

It is interesting the name may come from the word word Realtor, which is not used in most nations including UK and AU from what I have heard. They are called Estate Agents in the UK, which term is not used at all in the US.

In fact, "Real Estate Agent" is the correct term for the profession here in the states.
A "Realtor" is
1. A paid up member of the National Association Of Realtors,
and
2. In good licensing standing with the appropriate state agency.

The moniker "Realtor" is a trademarked term, while "Real Estate Agent" or "Realty" are still generic.
Hence, realty.org.uk is a long term, sleep-good-at-night type of name.

"Estate Agents" is quite a popular term here, but they stick a 'Real' in front of it. Your correct, I'm not correcting you whatsoever.

I agree that $30 is quite a miss on the value.

Remember, it's an org.uk and not a co.uk.

Personally I think anything over reg fee would be a crime, not dissing your name, but .org.uk is used as a charity or non profit extention mainly. Make no mistake your getting nothing big in return for this domain. I have never ever used the term 'realty' and as you can see by the flag i'm British!

*If you do get someone to pay $X,XXX for a .org.uk then give me a bell! I beg you!

Remember, it's an org.uk and not a co.uk.

Thanks for pointing that out. I actually forgot it was an org when I wrote that but not sure that makes a big difference in value? I know I value highly many of my US Org's and some also get good type-ins and traffic so not sure how the org.uk extension devalues a domain, especially if it's a keyword, though I am sure co.uk is more valuable.

P.S. I find org.uk more impressive and better sounding than the unusual co.uk. I wonder why they decided to use co.uk rather than com.uk which sounds much better to me. I have a few org.uk names and did not hesitate reg'ing them since the co.uk was taken and the org sounded good and denotes a sense of trust due to it being an organization rather than a company, just like US Org's convey.

There is a vast difference between the values of .co.uk names and their .org.uk equivalents. I like international orgs very much, but you cannot compare them to country orgs. They may convey a sense of trust, but there is little popular awareness that they even exist.

Yup, though not as good for default type-in behavior like .COM, .ORG is essentially the world's most relevant URL symbolism for the Web Of Trust.
