register.com's grace period?

I'm aware that register.com often holds on to good domains but what is their normal grace period, i.e. the number of days it takes from the exp. date until they drop it. Is it normally during a specific hour even? I know you will tell me to find out myself by monitoring bad domains but I don't have the energy:dead:

I called register.com on the phone and I was told that the grace period is 35 days. Your mileage will vary.

It cannot be 35 days, because they held a name of mine for over 60 days.

That's what I was told. But keep in mind that there are some names that are held for over a year.

Im tracking 3 very good generic names at Register.com, all of which expired dec/2001-march/2002. Register.com is as bad as verisign when it comes to holding onto good names and not dropping them.

Register.com also keep their client's expired domains if they think they are valuable - offer them for sale on afternic to sometimes.
