I just submit my request to their support team at snapnames.com once I know snapnames changed their policy.
Then I got the mail:
Thanks for your e-mail.

I can appreciate your concerns about the updates to our domain name back-order service. SnapNames made this decision after careful considerations about the direction of the domain name industry and the needs and expectations of our customers. We understand this could be somewhat disruptive to some of our customers, and we're sorry if this is the case for you.

It's anticipated that most domain names we acquire will have only one back-order placed against it, meaning that customer will be awarded the name for only the $60 acquisition fee. For contested names, the market value derived from that name will be helpful in our effort to expand our registrar network, which is critical to our continued ability to maintain the effectiveness of our service.

Your back-order subscription is still in place and monitoring the targeted domain name. For any back-order subscriptions held through yesterday, we have credited your account with $69, and accordingly are not offering refunds for subscriptions. As noted in our update to you yesterday, you'll be able to use this credit toward the purchase of the domain if we successfully acquire it.

If you have other questions, please feel free to get in touch. We're available at 1-800-385-4075.
It seems they have reply to many people with the same mail, even no my name in this mail.
Yes,it's only $69.But I am very angry with them,is there any people have got back you money from them?Or who can help me got my money back?
Thanks
Bean

They will surely lose....
Lol, I doubt there is enough volume or drive to do that.

Good Luck! I support having the domain competition take their eye off the ball for a while. This equates to more names and hopefully more reasonable prices fo me. :cheeky:

Agree....The fact they allowed credits inside the system was a great idea and a fair one.
I am sure all the larger players agree.

"Your back-order subscription is still in place and monitoring the targeted domain name."

Might be difficult to pursue any claim.

Its Fake money - they can add $69 easy from the back end.

They haven't got the money in the bank to pay everyone back.

You bought one product and they are trying to force you to spend more on another.

Seems very unethical. It's not the customers fault for their lack of forsight or poor money management skills. They (Snapnames) should definately be held accountable for contract breach.
I for one purchased snaps specifically for WLS pre-reg purposes before Oct 20th of last year on their promise it would go through at that time.

By the way Whois..... good work on dnreview. All the best on it.

WLS was the last hope of some wallet sanity for the smart but poor domainer. I think we all deserve this for not supporting WLS in the first place. Gentlemen, please start your credit cars..

I have a freaking "subscribtion", and had them try for a few names including DeletedDomains.net, and when they lost that I was upset. I wanted to add it to my Deleted.com collection.

Very true mole.

Now all the poor domainer has is a less than 5% (high ball figure) with a GD backorder and a hell of alot of luck to bank on in order to catch any half decent names.

snapnames decision is too sudden. if they give official announcement at least 1 month before the change, people might not be as angry...

but we heard nothing, only news of cutting away reseller and then a sudden shocking news that it becomes auction mode...

anyway, i have submit support request to transfer credit from one of my snap account to another snap account but the reply said they cant do it at the moment, need their engineer to do the function...

Well, i am wondering why cant the staff do the transferring of credit between accounts by hand and have to wait for their engineers to discover sophisticated technology to implement transferring of credit... or perhaps they just didnt want to let people combine the accounts.

Thank you for contacting SnapNames.com!

At this time we do not have means to combine accounts. Our engineers are
looking into ways in which we can do this with the minimum amount of trouble
to our customers. As soon as we have more information we will let you know.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.

They had a database upgrade a few months ago and if you hadn't got any active snapbacks your account could be deleted.

I know that snap are crediting peoples accounts with monopoly money, but if customers wish to withdraw all funds back to there credit cards then this should'nt be an problem.... At the end of the day they have moved the goal posts and are nolonger providing the same service people originally signed there $69 dollars up for.....

Effectively they sold a service under false pretences and as 'whois-search' said "they are now trying to get you to spend more money"

Not a good way to do business.
