Talking about launch of .kids.us

It seems it'd be actively promoted by USG. If so, what would be the likely future value of a prime third level name is this extension; Examples would be: Games.Kids.US; Sports.Kids.US, etc. If there's agreement that such third level names will command high value and would be highly sought after then how about securing the "combo" of these same second & third level words...i.e. GamesKids.US & SportsKids.US,....NOW, if they're still available. The speculation part is that whoever gets the former (Games.Kids.US) and invests in developing it would be quite willing to secure the "non-dotted version" for at least a few X the reg fee if not few hundred $$...well thats much better than most other investments.

Does it make sense or is it too much a strain for imagination?

You're on the right the track..

that isnt essential to make nice returns in .US but yes, thats an area everyone is looking at for even further specualtion that you go into.

I could just kill you guys!! I don't need another .US pool to have to fish in - but I can see the logic here, so I went ahead and took one myself.

Since it is taught from first grade on, surely Art.Kids.us will be one of the first names taken when Kids.us opens, so I took ArtKids.us.
I figure even if the dotless kids.us approach fails, that would make a cool name for a graphic artists site.

Playing this angle is more complicated too. Normally you wouldn't want two plurals together like GamesKids.us, but the official extension, Games.Kids.us makes perfect sense. So if you are going for the missing dot crowd, I guess you have to consider the double plural.
