The Legendary, Powerful "Socket Scripts" (no, I don't have one)

I've heard of these programs for sometime: the "socket scripts" that allow for almost intantaneous registering of dropped names.

Who are these priveledged souls who have this wondrous power? How many are there?

Are there any of you Domain Gods among us?

If so, would you favor us with a clue as to how you reached this
Mount Olympus of the domain universe?

Most often mentioned is a large Korean company - oftne pick up lots of junk to.

Byt all are often beaten by dumb luck, really. I person can click "purchase" domain at just the right time. The scripts you mention need a lot of specalized bandwidth that I think it's also alloted to main registrars. Some registrars used to allowe you to rapidly "click register" a list of domains - but now it's a pay service.

eNom has a drop club, $$$$ - and that's cheaper than some others. iaRegistery also has something along those lines.

Learn PERL.

Develop an understanding of sockets.

You want to get hold of something to improve your chances of registering GOOD domain names, and all you want to do is sell it on to other people?

drewbert, I'm not sure if you are addressing me but...
I'm already in possession of a script, written by myself. And its NOT in Pearl. If you knew anything drew, you would know there are other obstacles than having a working script to overcome before you register GOOD domains.

1. Spend hours locating the GOOD drops.
2. Find a fast registrar that will let you run the script, unless you do it without permission which I have done, and then they easily shut you off after a couple of shows.

Also WLS may be coming up and selling the script may be a chance for me to make some money before its worthless anyway. I've already made quite a lot selling a realtime bulk availability-check script and it hasnt showed up as common goods so I might take a chance with the drop script too.

The actual scripting needed isn't very complicated at all. Fairly simple even. The bigger issue is that it only takes 1 generous(?) person to greatly increase the difficulty for these to work.

Keep in mind that the cheaper you sell these scripts
for, the less valuable they become...
