those who register the extension,know what the letters .tv , mean in reality!
however, commercial applications have "synomized" (made up word) the letters, with broadcast television.

i have seen quite a few commercial ads, where to co. used the .tv

this has taken the association of the term, away from the "tiny little island" to the "potato couchers"

99.999% people who saw my .tv domains all know .tv means .television, and when I told them .tv actually means .tuvalu, they all said: What is tuvalu? kind of a brand of tv set?

The problem is that even the "television" meaning has little application on the internet. Its like having a .movie extension - it is severely limited. Unless you have a TV related site the extension makes no sense.

So stuff like:

widescreen.tv
lcd.tv
films.tv
news.tv
sports.tv

... are all incredible domain names.

I've also seen .tv domains come in very useful for email addresses on TV programmes. People remember it because it stands out and makes sense, particularly in the UK.
