What for .tv domains

I think .tv domains get power in the very near future.

For web casting, it's cool.
But sorry that it's not the age of streaming media yet.

I have one eWEB.tv ($100/yr)
Not sure it's come true sooner.

I hope I can get some .tv domains too but the good names (premium) are just too expensive. :(

Sorry, its really disconcerting to serious name buyers when they find out that .tv is not .television but .tuvali

You really need a swig of http://www.keepwalking.tv to believe otherwise.

And it must be equally disconcerting for people from Tuvalu to learn that people think their country is Tuvali :D

B-But, Mole... cutting edge thinkers and established brands around the globe are adopting .tv—THE Web address for dynamic online content-as their home on the Web. A .tv Web address works exactly like a .com or .net address, but also has the added benefit of allowing you to brand yourself or your company using the most recognized two-letter symbol in the world—"TV." [sic]

heh heh...

I mean, who would pay one million/yr. to watch Sex from Tuvalu? :)

That cool show Crossing Over with John Edwards always puts their .tv address on the bottom like station identification.

LOL.

Just for laughs I plonked Tuvali into Google to see how many others misspell it, and at the bottom of the first page of listings is myOstrich.net, owned by our fellow DNF member thewitt.

You've been a bad influence in the past three years mole :D

The country code thing does not matter. Most users are too busy to find out what country code it is. If .tv is widely used and advertised as the domain for TV, then the ordinary people will think it is. In my country, some radio stations have started using .fm domains. I think media always have good influence to create brand image and turn this domain type into an advantage for themselves.

.tv, .cc,... and some ccTLDs have been turned into something like generic TLD. Nobody will bother to question their countries of origin, except us. :)

Webmania.tv is a canadian television segment site. They used to have webmania.com. I can only imagine how that change came about. For the most part I see "xxxxxxtv.com" being the prevelant mode of net identity.

Yeah... anyone who registers a ____.tv had best register ___tv.com for good measure. With any and all ccTLDs, most people are apt to think .com exists on the end of everything on the net. This even applies to .net in some circles.

Naw, I mean the ones that don't require their sub-domains...!

.tv, .ws, .nu, .cc, .us... etc.

.com.au and .co.uk stuff don't count.

Just my opinion tho. I'm probably generalizing of course... still suffering from the shock of gaggles of otherwise savvy people who can't repeat these domains back to me correctly without saying... and... ".com?"

:)

I like that these guys make it even more confusing...

YOUR-NAME.us.com

Sigh...
