Rule #1: ANYBODY who ever asks you to get an appraisal on one of your domains before he will buy it is a scammer. Always. 100% of the time. Without exception. Don't fall for it.

Disagree.

Just ask them to pay for it if in doubt (which you should be).

You just backed up my point. If they want an appraisal, there is nothing keeping them from getting one. Anyone who asks the owner to buy one first is a scammer.

I have to agree with MovieDomains here, no legit buyer would ever ask the seller to pay for an appraisal. Buyers know what they want to pay, the last thing they'd do is have some outside party come up with a different price, especially when most appraisal services hand out numbers that are unrealistically high.

I agree. If a buyer wants an appraisal, he can get one, at his or her own expense.

When you hear "you need to purchase an appraisal," you can assume it is most probably a scam.

So, you ask what percentage of said offers involving "required appraisals" are scams.

Unfortunately, my friend, close to 100%.

Good luck.
