I'm thinking of offering a mini domain hosting account, so domain owners can put up their own customized for sale pages or mini affiliate sites for their domain names.

I can offer webstats, cgi-bin, plesk control panel, email, email forwarding, domain forwarding, subdirectories, frontpage, ftp, php, ssi, etc. Unfortunately, it would not be available for adult content sites.

I was thinking of making the account 1mb file storage. What would be a reasonable traffic amount? 1000mb? What would such an account be worth to domain speculators??? Would anyone be interested???

I'm thinking of offering this using one of my domain names: DomainCooperative.com

What do you all think???

Thanks for input...

I think it's a great idea, especially for each domain having its "own customized for-sale pages".

And by the way, when you say stats, did you mean separate stats for each individual domain too?

I would definitely be interested. Please pm me if you begin offering, or wanna try it out.

Yes, each domain would have it's own fully-functioning full-featured website hosting, it would just be really, really small, with modest bandwidth, so it would be very affordable.

The only catch would be that because I'd want to make them cheap, I'd have to sell them in bundles to make it worth while. Otherwise, the payment processing fees alone would quickly eat up all the profits.

I have to figure out if such a product is even financially feasible or self-supporting. So, what would you be willing to pay for such a product???

That's the big question.

I've been looking around at hosting offerings from all over. There are many hosts now that are offering pretty decent space and features for really low prices like $1.95 a month for 100mb of space and 1Gb bandwidth.. you can even get 100-200MB for about $15 a year..

I think, since what you're doing with your plan, HelloThere, would probably be decreasing some features that we won't use much, and increasing the features that we will.. the pricing should still stay around the same as current market pricing.. It's just a more 'customised' plan of features than the regular hosting plans.. but equal weight since u take away from some things and add onto other things.

My guess is, what people are willing to pay (or even me), for about 1Mb space and 1000Mb bandwidth.. you can't expect very much. Maybe about $10 - $20 per year at most? But more likely within the lower region of that range, so closer to $10..

By the way, yes, 1000Mb does seem like reasonable traffic allowance.
