Thanks Rico. I think traffic guys like dotzup.com would be bigger in traffic and volume than fma, telepathy and compana. Also anything.com would be bigger than telepathy or compana in terms of quality even though anything.com has a smaller set. It's hard to think of them all, hence the post. Also it just occurred to me that digimedia.com is bigger and better than telepathy or compana.

If I had to list the biggest and best i can think of (in no particular order):

ultsearch
digimedia.com
telepathy
fma
name admin
buy domains
dotzup
anything.com
compana

but i must be missing some though.

I agree that fma.com has a great set but the trouble with some of the others in the list is that they have such good legacy names-- names you don't know they have (don't jump to mind) because they have not been acquired recently. There is alot more substance than sizzle with some of those operators. ie. cigarettes.com <--digimedia , cuisine.com<---ultimate search. I know fma has cool.com and many others but the there is alot of chaff in his set too Bashar, don't you think?

for example the random sampling from dailychanges.com, this is just bad:
237 MP3ENTERPRISES.COM FMA.COM
238 MP3HITNEWS.COM FMA.COM
239 MP3HOSTS.COM FMA.COM
240 MP3INFOS.COM FMA.COM
241 MP3INTERNATIONAL.COM FMA.COM
242 MP3NETWORX.COM FMA.COM
243 MP3PROBE.COM FMA.COM
244 MP3Q8.NET FMA.COM
245 MP3REAL.COM FMA.COM

In size? BD and Ult for sure.

Quality? Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I don't think buydomains has any nice stuff.

FMA, Digimedia, Xedoc, and Reflex are my top 4 favorite portfolios

C-NET easily wins in quality (according to my taste atleast). Their portfolio is too good to be true. Not to forget their developed domains, which since a few months back includes mp3.com as well.

volume - who cares really? Anyone with cash can reg shit names and win that.

I think Icehole and Nametower are correct. Crap + Crap = Crap no matter how many times you do the math.. And you are right, I completely overlooked CNET, in fact, their entire business is built on the foundation of their names. Without the traffic those names bring they would be salon.com or some other over-developed under-read portal (if they would have survived the 2000 stock meltdown at all that is) Maybe I should have asked for top ten instead of 5 because the top 5 seem subjective. If I add CNET I get this list: which serious and substantial operators am i overlooking?

ultsearch
digimedia.com/reflex (related)
telepathy
fma
name admin
buy domains
dotzup
anything.com
compana
CNET

I am more interested in seeing the

"DNJournal Top 500 Domain Holders List".

http://www.dnjournal.com/news.htm

If I figured it correctly. I am number #499.

I am striving to be #475 in 2005.

(I like the idea of being on someone's list???)

Sorry, Duke. I was wondering how many people would hit the link
looking for the list. I know you were going to premier
the concept in Dec. Similar to the Fortune 500.
Sorry I let the cat out of the bag.

If you take out your .tv, .cc, .fm. .la and .bz, you might just hit #1499. Good luck!

add the biggest newcomer to the game: QSRCH/New.net

These aggregators put everyone else to shame now with the tactics that they've employed.

Is there a way you can look up all there names?

Can you look up by server and see all the names listed on the server?
