That one just expired. After 30 days from expiry, it should enter a delete cycle which takes about 5 days.

that diagram is a misleading piece of junk created by netsol (which operates snapnames) to provide the false impression that a specific step by step process is in place and implemented when, in fact, we all know that arbitrary execution of deletion protocol is common place, and netsol is the worst example of all registrars

Agreed. That diagram at SnapNames saying "There are exceptions which are not covered by this diagram". NetSol is probably one of the many exceptions :).

Netsol is famous for not keeping accurate info.

:D I wish !

Sorry dooberry you got that wrong. The new netsol policy is for 45 days after expiry. Which of course explains why I have names from july aug sept oct nov. Nobody at netsol is intelligent enough to count as high as 45. Therefore they don't go into the deletion cycle.

There is apparently somebody who can count into the 30's however because they have a lot of names going as early deletes. No warning. If you're waiting around for a netsol name to go into the delete cycle don't waste your time. they seem to be dropping more in the early deletes than the regular ones. Make sure you have your names in as soon as possible before the 30 - 35 day mark to be safe.

You're mixing up expiry date with deletion date.

A name expires say dec 30/02. It then sits in the grace period. Which for netsol is supposed to be around 39 days if memory serves me. Then it's supposed to go into the 5-6 day delete cycle.

The deletion date (drop) "should" be around the 45th day.

Of course they don't follow thier own policy. It's still pretty haphazard.

Many names are deleting in the 30+ range without warning or going into the old deletion cycle.

Excuse me if I have erred a couple of days I read their "NEW" policy back in july and the exact day count is hazy. They don't use it anyway so there's little point in remembering it.

Different registrars run different systems.

Thanks gmartin i was under the impression that i just added 5 days to the expiration date from the whois for netsol names? I guess i need to factor inthe 30 to 39 day grace period and then add the 5 days. I wish this was more clear:confused:

I think you missed the point. That's what their policy says it should be.

They DON'T do it.
