I fished for some opinions a few weeks ago, but didn't get too big of a response. Anybody else want to chime in?

2. Electronics. A circuit element, such as a coil, used to introduce reactance.
3. Physics. A nuclear reactor.

This is tricky - build some informative page about nuclear reactors, don't know if exists any affiliate for nuclear reacors, but commission for selling 1 nuclear reactor could be 8-digit. You can also offer it to companies doing this business, i.e. Westinghouse. I would appraise $3K~$6K now.

In this case I would offer him $18K and be ready to settle for half of it.

If they don't want to pay in the $10K neighborhood, you could consider leasing the site to them for several years or letting them develop it on a revenue sharing program...if the plan is to have it generate revenue.

His offer is in the low (very) $xx,xxx range. I've asked for $25K. I like the lease and co-development ideas. Thanks!

If its in the $XX,XXX then thats not bad at all. What you dont want to do is get greedy and push them too far, but, since their in the business in which this name would be perfect for, then, I guess its not too bad

I work for a fabricator of reactors for refineries and petrochemical plants (among other applications). They would pay 25K for it straight away and hence the reason I wouldn't accept anything less. If it produces one sale of a reactor, it would easily be at least a million dollars. Some of the reactors I've sold for them are on the order of four million dollars. So, the moral of the story is, I believe to the right entity, it could easily be worth a lot more than what I'm asking.

So why you do not sell it to them for $25K, as they would buy it "right away" and instead of it are counter-offering $25K to someone who is not sure will buy it ?

Anyway, it seems you have pretty clear idea about the price, more clear than the rest of us. Question is, why you asked for an appraissal ? :noidea:

They are not motivated to buy it "straight away" because I've already told them we could use it, but I would retain ownership. They have first right of refusal on any offer too. I was asking for an "appraisal" to ensure opinions concurred, which, as you can see, some do and some don't. About a year or a year and a half ago when I asked for appraisals, they were much lower.

Do people really search online for reactor companies? Would they be able to link the referral directly from your website to receive the commission?

If you are in the business the answer is absolutely. I am their exclusive rep in the US and Canada; however, we digress.
