I currently have a few hundred domain names registered through MyHosting, which is a reseller for OpenSRS. I thought I was getting a great deal at $6.95 per name, but that was only for the first 20 names, which I later found out and was charged an extra $2 per name. GRRRR!! Also, they have no bulk tools, no API. I am a programmer and I want to check availability on thousands of names per day and make bulk changes to thousands of domains as far as DNS goes and such. The option I have found that looks appealing is Dynadot. Are they any good? Is GoDaddy better? What's the best registrar for cheap domains + API + bulk tools?

Does Moniker or Fabulous have a decent API? Bulk management tools? Cheap renewals?

I stand by Go Daddy, the support is excellent and I have all my names at Go Daddy.

I work for Go Daddy, I keep all my domains at Go Daddy.

I prefer GoDaddy. For Executive Account holders they also have added security measures which is nice.

I've heard many bad things about GoDaddy going around the forum, but I still use them for all my domains. They're cheap and simple to use.

Complaints are directly related to size. The larger the company (GD is huge) the more published complaints regardless of how good they may be, and vice versa with a relatively small company having less complaints even though thery may be the worst, mainly a function of size. True with not just domain firms but in any business category.

I like DynaDot, easy to use and friendly, prices aren't bad either.

Resell.biz

I can't blame them. Cheap price. 5.85 for .net. I wonder what they eat. Air?

For pharmacy domains, which I don't buy a lot, I am trying domainerschoice.com.

Slightly more expensive but they promised not to ever unlock your privacy settings without order from people's republic of china. So I won't put adult domains there. But I don't think PRC has any issue with viagra.

After that it's based on discounts.

Best registrar is BY FAR eWeb Domains. They offer TONS of free services and are the cheapest registrar - they offer 24/7/365 promotional pricing (the best they can offer all the time) and will include a 500 unique targeted visitor campaign to you with your first domain registration/transfer! (You just have to contact them to get the campaign going for whatever site you want!)
