If he does he'll probably make a god-awful fortune...all the while the domain climbs in value...no matter what he does.

True, the development potential on forums.com is huge, it could host
10s of thousands of active forums. But a bird in the hand is worth

I thinking you're taking About.com for granted. They have far more then 2-3 years of development. Any web-site like about.com, regardless of the domain would be worth a fortune, Google, Yahoo, Lycos.

Well yeah you are probably right..but with a great business plan, Investors, development firm, advertisement budget, management team...etc...just imagine what Forums.com could become and how fast it could get there. Hell the new owner has at least $500K equity for his part in the domain alone. (And I'm guessing he owes some money on it..maybe not). I don't know about you, but that domain IMHO has more money making potential than almost any domain I've ever heard of. If done right, theres literally no ad market you could not reach. From mental heath forums to adult forums. Of course it would take time, but it could be done within a relative short period of time. OK 7 years...Then they buy out About.com...or Vise Versa....lol

Not sure how much he paid for it, but, he got it on March 9th, 2005.
He had it for 4 years.
