The flex screen (even fold up and roll up screens) has been talked about for about 5 years now (I think I even have some hand regs from those days). As you can see in the vid, the energy source requirements are still pretty heavy (and bulky). It's almost there but not quite. It would need to be some type of conductive and light emitting polymer or plasma to actually power and project the images.

On the up side, I am not too awfully familiar with the latest generation of iPhones, but the image you show I love! Love the rounded off and curved top and bottom. This has got to be a huge plus vs. holding something flat in your hand for extended periods of time. I would imagine it being more comfortable to hold and use than the first few generations.
