Take the "constructive criticism" and do with it what you will. I plan on cleaning up the "appraisal section". This has nothing to do with being a "yes" person. It has everything to do with "accountability, accuracy, and legitimacy".

Really? I don't see "Moderator" under your User name (yet), Izo. Nonetheless, should you ever become one ... I'd recommend you start by making descriptions mandatory for appraisals.
That way, these seemingly obscure ones will get the recognition they so richly deserve. :D
Again, I appreciate your time and commitment to improving the site.
Take care for now.

Hmmm. How can I explain this. A serious appraiser by nature should know every aspect of a market. It would be like if I took the "Mona Lisa" to an art dealer, I would think they would know the true value. I wouldn't have to explain anything.

Now, what if I have a oil painting of a dog. The art dealer would then probably "ask questions" before assigning a value.

Maybe before assigning something $0. ask the person about the name. Also, if I were you in this situation. I probably wouldn't offer an appraisal to begin with.

Well, thank Goodness for differing opinons, Izo!
PS. Drop me a PM when you become "Moderator", k? I've got lots of other "constructive criticisms" for you to get to work on. :D
Stay

Some izopodian philosophy comes to mind:

Those who can laugh at themselves probably have reason to

one of my sites... give description of nanotech applications.. and links :)

That's the ticket, Dome!
I appreciate the info, and surely the thread-starter and Izo appreciate it, as well. I will research the topic and revisit ... though I still maintain this all could have easily been avoided from the get go (with a brief description, and/or stats). No worries.
Thanks.

As far as I remember from high school Nano is the prefix for 10 to the power of - 7. It is a well-know technology in wafers manufacturing which is used to put chips and circuits on it.

thats cool izopod, you have a nice name as well, nano i think is a tricky technology as far as holding the right domain names but i think it is well worth holding on to some of these names for 8.00 bucks a year and taking a chance .Good luck with your workshops
