This is my first post in this forum. I have some decent domains parked, but there are generating next to no revenue. I can't help thinking there must be a better way.
Here are my thoughts lately. I haven' tried the idea yet, so I'd appreciate any input as I am still quite new to domaining.

If I understand, AdSense (and alike) gives only 30% of the CPC to the website owner.
In the case of a domain parked, that means the domainer gets even less because the parking company takes a share, so I would guess the domainer gets less than 25% of the CPC.
And since the CTR is not 100%, that means even less than that. Let's say CTR is 50% (generous), that means the domainer gets less than 15% of its type-in traffic multiplied by the CPC.

Would it not make sense to look for an advertiser directly, make a deal, and forward 100% of the traffic directly to the advertiser's site?

Here is an example to clarify:
Assuming monthly type-in traffic of 1000, and CPC for this keyword of $1.00,

Parking scenario:
CTR: 20%
Revenue per click: 0.10
=> Monthly domainer income = 20% * 1000 * 0.10 = $20.00

Direct traffic deal with advertiser:
Selling each type-in at say 0.50:
=> Monthly domainer income = 1000 * 0.5 = $500.00

My questions:
- Are my understanding or calculations wrong?
- Has anyone tried that? and what are the results?

Looking forward to any input that can help all of us monetize the traffic!

It is hard to set up that kind of deal with an advertiser, unless you have a really great domain that suits their business.

Other option is to find a good paying affiliate program that suits the domain, or build a website/page with info related to the domain, and use Adsense.
