Good afternoon,

The goal is to re-establish DNForum as a major domain name community. This, of course, is also essential for our profitability.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on several key points:
  • How did you hear about DNForum?
  • How do you currently use it to make money? (This clarifies the intent)
  • What is your current experience with DNForum? (Replaces "state" for a more user-centric approach)
  • What are the areas you feel DNForum could improve on? (Focuses on improvement)

From a potential owner's perspective:
  • If you owned DNForum, what changes would you make?
  • If you were to buy DNForum, what would you prioritize changing? (Slight rephrasing)
  • Where do you see the biggest opportunities for DNForum?
  • What core aspects of DNForum would you strive to preserve? (Focuses on positive elements)

For established industry brands (@GNAME, @godaddy, @it.com, @ukbackorder, @AlexDynadot):
What improvements would make DNForum more valuable to your business?

Our aim is to understand DNForum's history and rebuild it for future success. Perhaps some current features are highly successful and deserve further investment. On the other hand, are there areas where we've been misdirecting our efforts? Identifying these areas will allow us to optimize DNForum for both users and industry partners.

We're looking forward to a productive brainstorm!

Best wishes and best success in business!!

It would be also interesting to hear thoughts of @MapleDots (Frank, who has manages the super valuable DN.ca dn community).

@Johnn - your thoughts? What would you do it DNF as a single-owner?

@Biggie, you have been here before the God created this earth :) Your thoughts?

1. Rules: Revise the rules and pin them in every sale section. It's unclear now and some places don't have it.
- At least one name must be in the title
- Registrar & expiration date
- Payment information
- For auction the end date must be clearly post
2. Try to response to new members so they know there is welcome and help here
3. Connect with Registrars to announce discount on renewal or register name
4. Once we have some traffic we can invite the industry leaders come here and help members (Godaddy, Sav, Dynadot, Sedo, etc...)
5. Post some help information for newbies - I did it in the past but we can post more...
That's not for the start.

We post our selling rules right above when you open a topic, including a link to discuss the rules.

Nobody can say they did not see the rules...

One of the things I like to see is a separation for New Posts

- All New Posts
- New Market Posts
- New Discussion Posts
- New Topics

It's pretty easy to do, we did that on our main page

I find sometimes forums gett flooded with sales posts and some members only want to read domain news or look for new topics. This way they can zero in to what they want in a few seconds.

Hi

you might consider buying ad space on some of the most visited domainer sites, like namebio, dotdb, dnjournal, etc

domaining.com used to have a small banner in footer of dnforum, maybe you guys can work out a link exchange.

imo....

Thank you. Since domaining.com is for sale, it has become a bit more difficult to talk future cooperations with the owner. .. yes, I tried getting this thing softed, especially, as have a direct email of the owner (cool French guy).
