.ES is Spain's extention. And Spain is not in South America.
And what is the major language spoken in most South American countries?
Last time I checked "Latino" isn't the name of it ;)

lll.org.uk still needs to go. The 3 premium ones are running out though.

I think most of these rushes, especially the four letter .com and 3 char .net and .org, as well as inflation of value of 3 char .com are just caused by speculation that will colapse when people realise the end use value of these isn't there. The coming recession will ensure that starts to happen before too long. I'd much rather have bmu.org.uk which might be worth something to someone than q4v.org or xjvq.com which I can't see many end users actually wanting.

I tend to agree with most of that

re org.uk I'd be diving in but I refuse to buy anymore uk (org or co) as the nominet transfer paperwork is a complete drag

in fact I hate nominet's moronic paperwork transfer requirements that much i'd love to start a petition

just seems like a racket (nice fees for them for every transfer) and completely unnecessary.

Could petition the nominet members to elect a candidate for the board that has a position of removing transfer fees - or if there is no standing one themselves.

Do you bother to fill in the forms they send you after you regisiter a domain or not? Do you need to?

Well, not a finite category but I think CC local verticals are a gold mine. Especially .us, .co.uk and .ca.

They are much more relevant than .net or .org and are suprisingly quite a few good ones out there.
They are great for end user sales.

Local.

City plumber.com, City weddingplanner.com etc.

That and maybe geo .tv names.

I don't see any use for most LLLL or CVCV and think it is mostly speculators selling to speculators which is fine so long as one doesn't get over invested and caught with illiquid assets.

Also, watch emerging markets but then again I guess that is local too.

The good .coms are already gone. Most of the ones left are a stretch.

so lll.asia or llll.asia is worth or not?

it will follow the hype and lead of .eu. If the europeans aren't using it then why would anyone think that .asia is going to be any better.

Taking a continent and trying to combine all the ccTLD's into one big domain as if everyone is going to dump the .cn, .jp, etc.

Plus, many feel this is stereotyping a region.

I'm bypassing .asia - I agree with Doc Com on this one - .eu seems like a good parallel

no doubt a few good single keyword .asia will do well and maybe short numerics but I's rather look elsewhere for growth

I'm passing on .asia, especially since you have to have residence in one of the asian countries to qualify. I might have tried to get a few of my favorite keywords in .asia if I could have, but no big deal.

.asia might be good for companies that do business in Asia and want to have an information website for people in english speaking countries, like Hilton.asia for their asian hotels or Shipping.asia for companies that ship to Asia.

I can't imagine there will be much type in, nor will it be an extension of choice for many to build on. People would probably rather use a .com or .net, or their country code.
