Are you saying that throwing .mobi into the ccTLD Section solves the problem??? :?:

So why not create a .mobi Section for all .mobi and sales??? This is a simple solution other forums follow very sucessfully

...and it keeps the non-interested rif-raf away too  asuming they can resist to keep away that is ;)

I don't think thats a good idea.

Do you see a lot of .com sales threads in the sales section?
Would you drop .com to a .cc tld?

It seems like a type of dnf punishment.. and it makes dnf appear to be unknowledgeable about the correct extensions.

Its not a cc tld no matter how many names are for sale.

If this is some kind of a move to push .mobi into some corner, then its not going to work IMHO.

From what I see, Dot Mobies are planning to hang around for a long long time and the .mobi sales threads will only be a more regular occurance

Yup, that's the ticket.

Can we expect the same for .org, .net, .info, .biz? ccTLD's?

Take all the lowly non-commies and regulate them to the back of the bus?

Can I hear an AMEN!

I sure hope this is not brushed under the rug. We have a valid concern.

Quite the valid concern.

But a concern not shared by most.

It seems like this is being treated like a second class citizen.

If Adam and the Admin condone it, then so be it. It is their forum. But to have a moderator come on and explain that the reason is because there is no justifiable reason but this is the reason I am going to give is pure bogus.

I am baffled by all this uproar to rid the forum and the world of the mobi.

We have doctors and lawyers and bank people who have invested. We have experienced domainers and newbies and business people and domainers who have purchased this. There are CEO's, major corporations, upstarts and foreign trades that have invested in .mobi.

I not only think it is time for people to take their head out of their ass because mobi isn't going anywhere.

And I think it is high time to take you cell phones out of your rear and put it to good use for what it was intended for.

The mobile internet.

It will not be brushed under the rug.

This forum dwells and thrives on controversy. It is great for the rankings and the ratings. Brings in hordes of viewers and onlookers to see what is going on.

If the forum wants to be strictly .com, then make it so. If it want to be all inclusive of domains and the domain industry, then make it so.

If someone wants to reveal their disdain and ignorance by calling it a ccTLD, then fine.

Which country?

I don't have to be to work until next Wednesday night. So, other than sleep every now and then, a few bodily functions, a few odd and end chores, I have nothing better to do than to debate the validity of .mobi.

At least that is what I want every one to think.

So I'll leave a browser open and you'll get the picture.

Bring on the damn drama queens!!!

Why not wait for Biggedon or another mod to respond before making such a uproar?

imo, and not as mod, but you're going overboard with this.

i just gave a possible reason why

the fact that .mobi Has it's own section should be sufficient.
what would change other than it's labeled designation?

if it was a concensual, and "non-biased" concern, then maybe i could see your point.

but don't get mad at me because i gave a possible answer.

and to "3dGeek" it is not necessary to your reply to me, or to those that use props to further illustrate their positions.

i understand your frustrations, as some members continue to dismiss your every attempt to further legitimize this extension.

i guess if Adam decides to relabel it, then you can claim "1 point" for .mobi.

( hear the crowds roaring in the background )

whatever happens....doesn't matter to me.

Its not a matter of points, its a matter of respect.

I have names in many extensions.. lots of them. I can not get over the reactions from people I have talked with, done business with, looked up to, and helped out over this .mobi extension. It's mind-boggling.

It seems that there has to be a fight or debate whenever the extension is discussed. I can't imagine dnf ever plopping .net or .com into a cc category for any reason. Simply because they felt there were too many for sale posts (which may not be the reason .. I understand) is unacceptable for our market. New domainers want to find out about .mobi along with other extensions. They might become confused then they see a reputable domain forum placing the extension in a cctld category.

There are many reasons that this move was a bad idea. Regardless of the motive for doing this, it needs to be corrected.

Biggedon...

Having some fun, you just happen to be part of it.

The real question I think why, when there was a seperated sub-forum, was the sub-forum removed and when the site was redone(?) that the .mobi section was placed in the ccTLD?

This could only have been a conscious decision or perhaps an oversite with altering and making changes.

because there were originally too many .mobi sales threads in regular sales section.

So wishing it would go away and wanting it to go away is not going to make it so.

Wishing it success and wheelbarrows full of money for all who have invested is not going to make it so.

But taking a recognized gTLD and making it a ccTLD will also not make it happen.

here's my personal opinion, and it's just that...not the forums, admins or other mods.

first...you want respect for who?

you or .mobi?

new domainers imo, only want to know about .mobi because they either can't get good .com's or they think .mobi will be the new .com

but it's just my opinion.

i ain't bashing... it's just what i think about the subject when it comes to "assuming" what new domainers want to know, and or how they will get "confused" because .mobi is labeled as a cctld on dnf.

i think, and again it's my opinion... that many of you are already confused!

yeah...i said it, and i still don't care what the label is.

you could label it a "kingtld" and put some of the "crown jewels" around it, spray all kinda sweet perfume on it and put it inside that "pink dress" from the "Drama Queen" image that the other ".mobi lobbyist" posted.

and in the end, it will still only be a .mobi when you strip it down.

.mobi gotta earn respect

imo

Obviously, that ain't gonna happen here.

but I will stick around in the off chance it would.

And by the way, I have been labeled the drama queen. A fitting title and I think I look good in pink.

here's something...

whether or not .mobi ever gets any respect here, should not affect your agenda...or will it?

if .mobi is the "one"

or is dnf the last remaining entity who hasn't yielded to the dark side of .mobi ;)
