I just checked Google for a popular keyword term. This is a keyword with very high search volume.

I was amazed to see a parked domain in the first page of results. This was a pure keyword .net.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...icial&hs=byu&q=Health+Supplements&btnG=Search

After checking I found this was a 6 years old domain, with ZERO backlinks.

I guess this shows the value of keyword domains and/or aged domains, even .net domains. Or maybe I am missing something?

Yes, definitely interesting.

It has now slipped to second page (at the bottom)

This thread probably f*ed it up

how does this happen with zero backlinks???

I thought ranking high was all about backlinks....or at least part of the equation...

Nope, it's still on the first page. . .

besthealthsupplements.net is a PR3 domain with total of 159 links (7 indexed by google). If you inspect a little bit further, the links that pointing to besthealthsupplements.net are high PR such as PR6 domains for selfgrowth.com.

But healthsupplements.net is only a 6 years old domain. More importantly, enom is making the money from the ad. Wow!

Looks like it has dropped off the first pages of Google.

On a side note, one of my Parked sites is on the first page of Google. Granted it's only out of 357,000 total results, but still on the first page nonetheless. . .and that's with a .net that I hand regged this month. :D
