I see CIRA has changed the personal whois hidden date (the date when all .ca names will no longer show personal whois for individuals...corporate will be visible though)
to June 10th now instead of May1...

As of June 10, 2008 the dot-ca (.ca) WHOIS will not release information about individual Registrants and their Administrative and Technical Contacts. The personal information of corporate Registrants will be displayed by default.

Looks like it will be the default, but you can change it if you want..

Wow this is not optional? That sucks

don't know if this is good or bad, it's nice to protect your information, but it's also good as proof you are the owner if a name is stolen, etc.

if you have the option, maybe it doesn't matter anyway. though I do like checking whois to see who owns domains, a lot of the same names pop up all the time.

Hopefully a choice is given. Most of my .ca sales have been through whois queuery, and my best buys have been the same.

I like being able to see who owns the name when I buy it from someone. I believe that you would have to use an escrow service more often now, unless it's from someone on the board with recommendations.
