Would someone be so kind as to explain to me the purpose of the TAG for .co.uk domains?

I've just purchased a .co.uk and probably need to modify this, but to what?

TAG is representing the Registrar you use to modify the name - so for example if your name is currently administered by HostEurope the TAG will be HostEurope, if you were to move it say to DSVR you would need to request HostEurope to change the TAG to DSVR.
If you are leaving it with the existing registrar then you do not need to change the TAG.

Thanks Mr Webname and unclewilco. Much appreciated!

If you need a management interphase for your .co.uk names, I would recommend eNom.

1. Ask the existing tag-holder to retag the name to eNom.

2. Once retagging is done, initiate a transfer order from eNom just like you would do for .COM names.

It's pretty quick, 2-3 days for things to shift over.
