My printer is being a pain in the rear with picking up paper (yes, I've used cleaner sheets etc.. and they don't help but the wheel that picks up the paper is dirty, I have to take the bakc apart to clean it).
So now I'm debating between laser color all-in-one printers vs. inkjet ones.
The main difference seems to be price - inkjets are $150 and Staples has some laser ones as low as $300 (like this Brother and Canon (sale price)- I think the Brother is better in many ways).
Printing at home would be minimal but the nice thing is that I would end up replacing two printers - the color ink multi function and an old HP black laser printer.
The question is - would the jump to laser be worth it? My only concern is that I wouldn't be able to do as much photo printing (I have a crapload of photo paper from my days of working for HP) but I could get a cheap photo printer for this if needed (I do have a portable 325 but I would want something nicer).
I'm just sick of buying a new printer every couple of years. My old HP Deskjet 722 lasted for over 10 years before I replaced it. Even my 970 lasted 6 or 7 years, then the 995 lasted 4-5 years (until it was broken by our cat). But the 2575 lasted a year and a half and my 64xx series is probabaly a year old (yes, I'm waiting to hear back from them over the warranty).
