Commercial blog

Any suggestions as to which would be the best place to start a commercial blog?
Is it better to use something like Google's platform or build one from scratch?

Platform like Wordpress should work just fine. No need to reinvent the wheel.

I've heard good things about Wordpress, but it appears that they don't allow anything that would commercialize a blog. I could be wrong, though. I've only looked through the forums and done some research online. I haven't actually tried to set up an account with them.

Sorry, I was referring to the standalone version in which you upload to your own server from Wordpress.org.

Ahh, I see. So you can use Wordpress for a monetized blog, as long as it is hosted elsewhere. In that case, I'll definitely give it a try.

It should be a standalone blog at own paid hosting and with own domain name. Not a subdomain As no one takes such sites serious.
