What’s the difference between “ New Posts “ and “ Today’s Posts “

I made a for sale thread in the “ as is “ section in the platinum forum for domains related to New gTLDs, although I can see it under “ Today’s Posts “ but it’s not showing up under “ New Posts “

you won't see your newly created thread in top of que of "New posts", unless or until someone replies to it

but others may see it as a new post

I think new posts is the posts made since your last visit/search.
Today's post would be from the last 24 hours or so.
Waiting for admin confirmation :)

I don't see this under " New Posts " eventhough you and Katherine have responded to it, but I see it under " Today's Posts ".

I saw this thread under "New posts" and until my comment gets replied to, I won't see it again.

I miss that "spy mode" though...

Today posts : All the posted on the past 24 hours
New Posts : Show all the new posts since you last check - with the line saying these posts below are old.

I have seen my posts and everyone else’s posts for this thread under “ Today’s Posts “ immediately after they were made, but I have not seen anything under “ New Posts “ for this thread (not even the post that you just made Johnn)

Nevertheless I was just curious if other members were experiencing the same thing for the threads that they have created.

if you created the post, it is not "new to you".

if someone makes a comment in the thread, it will appear as "new" and you can go in and review the thread.

Just remember, it is new at that point because you are now in the thread.

As soon as you leave that thread and refresh the "new posts" again...your post will not be new - it is old.

Keep in mind, this is your view. This is not the view of everyone else looking at the posts.

As soon as I finish typing this and leave the thread, it will be an old post and will no longer appear in my (new post view), until someone else posts next.

Any time I can help clarify or confuse you, just let me know.

Thanks for everyone’s response, I think I figured it out :)

“ New Posts “ shows the posts that I haven’t clicked on yet (haven’t seen yet, hence the word New). “ New Posts “ list constantly changes as new posts are made and they are all in bold.

“ Today’s Posts “ shows the last post for the thread regardless of whether I have already seen it or not. “ Todays Post “ list is sorted by post time and the last post for each thread remains there, but only the ones that haven’t been clicked on (not seen yet) are in bold.
