Apparently it is a new thing, and then they simply check that you have a valid passport on entry.

What I'm saying is that if you entered the flight you are arriving on, and the flight you intend to leave on, then an entry from Mexico might be a problem.

The reason I mention this is that I know of two folks who got stuck in Mexico that way in the past.

The rules are constantly changing.

They asked for it. Alabama is a great place to visit or live, off the beaten path, not on the glitz and glamour tour promoted in this thread. Warm people and down home cooking. The Flora-Bama Lounge on the state line offers a quick escape route to Florida for nervous tourists.

Just a bump, as more info/ideas would be great.
For most countries the general route of travel is defined by bus tickets etc... in those places it is the activities we are trying to get an idea about.

The US is however still eluding in terms of the best route given our train ticket which visits the areas we want.. Any help on that would be greeeeatly appreciated.

In Singapore, visiting Sentosa Island is a must see, They added so much since I was there last, They built their first Hotel/Casino The "Marina Bay Sands" and are working on another... Sentosa is home to Underwater World, a man made underwater aquarium where you can walk through it.... You can also sit out on Tanjong Beach, I took the cable car to Sentosa but if you don't mind walking, they have a long bridge you can cross to the island, that is if your staying at one of the Hotels on Orchard Road.... Their also building a Universal Studios theme park there, but it's not completed yet.

Don't waste your money on renting a car, you can get around just fine using the MRT, you'll love how fast and efficient this subway system is, there are also plenty of taxis too, never mind the little bell that goes off in the cab, it's a warning the cab is driving over the speed limit..... Another place to go is the Botanical Gardens, it's not only beautiful, it's quiet and relaxing to walk through. One place I never went was the The Singapore Zoological Gardens, I heard good things about it so you might want to go there too, as well as Jurong Bird Park.

You really should read a travel guide, If there is something not covered, just ask and I'll try to answer.. If you haven't booked your flight yet, I highly recommend Singapore Airlines, extremely friendly and they'll make the flight as comfortable for you as possible.

What this thread has shown me (perhaps unfortunately) is that we have gotten our timings all wrong.

We arrive in Singapore late on the 18th of April, AND leave on the late on the 22nd... so we will have maybe 4 days.

In Hong Kong we arrive at 5.15pm on the 26th March, and leave on the 1st April.. again maybe 4 days max, 3 of which we are spending watching the HK 7s...

AUS - 3 weeks, NZ - 3 weeks, US - 4 weeks, Thai - 3 weeks.....

So the two places for which apparently the best things to do are located are the two locations where we are staying for only a minimal time... Im slightly worried now...

Exactly, you can cover Singapore in 3 days easy... This includes seeing some of the historic attractions.

Now if your going with your Wife and she likes to shop, you would be doing yourself a big favor keeping her away from Orchard Road, which is lined with Malls and designer stores.

That maybe hard though, if you want any day to day necessities or souvenirs, Go to Lucky Plaza which is on Orchard Road as well, they have a lot of stuff at very reasonable prices.

Another thing your really going to like is how efficient Changi International Airport is; By the time you pass through customs, which isn't very long.. your luggage will be off the belt waiting for you.

Sadly Im not going with the wife (I dont have one... yet, but admittedly you never know with British teens), regardless Im sure we will get distracted in a strip club or something
