how it is achieved
can it be manipulated
is it a fad or the future
are "page ranking software" applications available,and do they work
are "PR" domains a reliable source of traffic

how is what achieved? page rank? By getting links.

It can be maipulated since links can be manipulated. Of course is is also `manipulated' by google as they change how they weight search results.

I don't know that you mean be 'page ranking software'.

And no, PR domains are not a reliable source of traffic.

can it be manipulated - Thats up to Google.
is it a fad or the future - Only Google knows..

It's by getting links from other sites to you and it can definitely be manipulated -
1: Purchase links from high ranking sites (the easy way)
2: Links from other sites
3: Exchanging links (not as good as one way link)

Yes, there are PageRank checkers available, software and online tools. You can find it at google.

High PR != High Traffic != High keyword ranking
