In the last couple of years doing the domain thing part-time, I've made over $16,000. I know that's chump change to many of you, but it bought a lot of Hershey Almond bars to feed my habit.

My point here is that I've never bought a domain from anyone, just the registration cost. Is that common, or for once am I unique in some way? :)

Later edit: After I posted this, I discovered a poll on this subject in The Lounge that helps answer this queston.

i have only bought a few domains, the rest are all regged.

With domaining being a buyers market these days....I prefer to buy One good one, which can often be had for under $100, than to reg a bunch of maybes.

So far: only regged. I have gotten some pretty good ones.

One of the worse (appraised @ 30 or something here, I sold for $350)
