How to pay for ad space

I am wondering what is the better method for paying for adspace?

set the revenue as per impression or per click.
Example: charging $1 for 200(impressions), thats $0.005/impression.
or
Example: charging $1 for 20 unique clicks, thats $0.05/click.

I have lined up some advertising and want to make sure I am getting a fair deal for my money.
