1. Going to the movie theater:

- Waiting in line :upset:
- getting a good seat :upset:
- people kicking your chair :upset:
- Paying $9 - $15 per person :upset:
- sitting in uncomfortable movie theater seats :upset:
- paying for popcorn, drinks, candy, etc for 4 times the amount :upset:
- having to only watch the movie at movie theater's time schedule :upset:
- buying the dvd 6 months later :upset:

2. Paying only $1 for an illegal video

In Japan, we have this 2 minute skit where they try to make the audience feel sympathetic to the movie industries dealing with illegal DVD bandits. But should the movie industry feel sympathetic toward middle-class and poor families for charging so much!?

At the want of sounding like a moralistic hyprocrite, the whole issue of pirating is a bit catch22. The more people who buy pirate copies of music, software, films etc, the more the industries raise prices to counteract it. And there must come a point when those who make the content decide it's no longer worth it. If eveything was free, everyone would die

Why not make movies with add content built in i.e. We seem to being seeing more movies with people drinking pepsi for example. Make movies free and have premuim adds, I wouldnt mind as long as they don't take the piss!

True, product placement has been big business ever since 007 rolled up in his Aston Martin and ordered a Martini. But there are strict rules governing the use of products in films and on TV so taking the piss wouldn't be asy. And it might be harder for musicians:

DVD's don't cost all that much anymore, and while pirating may seem great to many. Most teens would not be seen with a pirated DVD or CD, and that is the biggest market for them right now. They are worried their frends, would think them to poor to buy a real DVD or CD.

So I don't think they lose, much money to pirating DVD's and CD's. As most adults getting them, would not of likely paid for a real copy anyways. But they count that as a real loss, but it's not really a real loss at all. If they was really losing big money, they would be putting out big bucks lobbying to stop it.
