I have someone disputing the domain name business as an "industry". What are others thoughts.

American Heritage® Dictionary: Description of industry
NOUN: 1. Commercial production and sale of goods.

Is not the registration of a domain "production"?

We all add to the GDP/GNP (Gross Domestic/National Product) of our respective countries by providing services around the internet, advertising, marketing etc. The sheer scale of participants and the value of transactions must surely qualify domaining as an industry. :)
