"1-800 Contacts Inc., a retailer of contact lenses, sued Lens.com Inc. for using its trademark to generate competing online advertisements, in the latest suit over Google Inc.'s AdWords program. Lens.com, based in Missouri, pays Google to generate so-called sponsored-link advertisements when online shoppers search for "1-800 Contacts." Paying to use the trademark in such a way is illegal, according to 1-800 Contacts., because consumers are being tricked into visiting the Lens.com Web sites."

Though Google has a policy about it. However, Trademark keywords convert really well, so I guess that policy is more of a formality and they are not interested in actually strictly implementing it.

Just think about it -- as long as the revenue from it is more than the settlements, they are good.
