I think a good topic on this site would be something along the lines of legal issues.

If you are in this business long enough, you will most likely
become the victim of the famous cease & desist letter or worse
a full blown lawsuit.

This is and will always be a big issue in the Domain biz
and it never hurts to have opinion and maybee even
some legal resources to help when that letter carrier
comes to your Home with the "certified letter".

I have been the victim of one huge lawsuit and
I'm sure not the last.

So what do you say we have a legal or a domain dispute forum?

Good idea Harvey. I'll run this by the brain trust.

Yes, definitely. I would love to hear from some TM lawyers. There
seems to be so much interpretation involving trademark issues.

Would be an excellent resource.

Sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, I can't contribute with a whole lot, but I guess that is what the thread will be all about - helping people like myself :)

I think another good thing that would come of it is we could
help each other expose companies that "Reverse Hijack".

They try to scare you without any basis in law to give them
the name.

An outpouring of emails from members to these companies that practice that crap would carry a lot of weight..

Done. I'll talk to my lawyer and try and get him to join DNForum.com. He has won some major cases for me.

Greg, that would be great if he can post and give his comment on this thread. Sounds like we have the best thread of this forum going!!

The bad thing is his name is Joe and the user name "Joe" is taken. :D

Just add a "haha" or something like that to it :D
