Links to competing forums

Just wondering if by any chance the rules against linking to other domaining forums like ########### or ########### would be reconsidered.
I understand about not actively promoting competing forums but sometimes you want to quote a source (scam/warning etc).

Besides this post has at least 3 linkbacks to a 'competing forum'

The best bet would be to post the information from that forum here warning other members in regards to it.
