So after the 20th blue screen of death last night, I got fed up with my Thinkpad and punched it in the face. Its out cold. I'd probably regret doing that if it hadn't felt so good.

Now I've got my eye on an Ubuntu laptop from Dell - anyone have one of these? Any reason why I shouldn't give up on Windows? Apple's not up for discussion as a matter of principle.

Compatibility issues with specific software that you may want to use.
Just get a 16-32gb USB stick and mount windows to that, so you can use it if & when you need to.
That's what I'm doing for my Asus EEE

Good advice - I think my biggest concern is Excel compatibility with open office. Other than that, I have a PC I can use for any must have windows programs.

Going to sit on the idea through the weekend and pull the trigger monday if I don't find any reason not to between now and then.
