I am extremely impressed with Mike Mann, He sold BuyDomains a few years ago for $65+ Million but he didn’t go quietly into retirement. He started a Venture Capital firm in Washington DC called WashingtonVC. Mike has always known the value of good domain names. Most of his startups have excellent Generic Domain Names and then he tries to build solid companies on top of those domain names. That is a great formula for success.

The companies he has invested include HappyBirthday.com led by Miguel Fiol, Phone.com led by Ari Rabban, Software.com led by Mike Bell, PodCast.com led by Scott Beatty. Today he just announced the purchase of SEO.com by WashingtonVC. And the formation of an SEO firm led by Dave Bascom. The company was formally called Web Targeted, but the new domain gives this SEO firm a huge leg up on its competitors.
