Mis-Typed Political Domain Name Inquiry

Yesterday I registered a mis-typed political domain name that has received over 3,000 page inquiries in the last 24-hour period. I have since pointed this domain to an existing website that I have in hopes of capturing some PPC revenue.

On an average day, the 'original' website has a traffic rank of 150,000 +, however has shown a 450% increase over the last three months - and it's expected to grow up until the big election.


Is there a market for these types of mis-typed domain names? Obviously it's getting plenty of traffic at the moment and I'll have updated traffic statistics by Friday morning. Is it worth anything if I choose to put it on the auction block?

Seriously, I understand a brief bit about mis-typed domains, but there is nothing wrong with consulting the experts of DNForum.com for advice.

Well...you have two routes to go with this...earn money from it (whatever small amount that may be) through parking...or point the domain name to your favorite political parties website and "do them a favor" ...as far as there being a big market for people who would BUY this domain name...they may exist but this traffic is very limited in value and length of existence so aside from maybe getting a few hundred bucks for it I don't think there is huge value here at all....unless it was getting tens of thousands of visitors a day and I'm sure it's not...

I have no quams with getting a few hundred bucks for it.

If someone is interested in this domain name, then great - I'd gladly sell it to anyone who makes an "interesting offer"

Since it was just registered with GoDaddy, isn't there a waiting period before transferring a new domain?


I'm open to suggestions.

there is always a market for traffic domains, however your domain will only have value and traffic this year, so better try to sell asap.

Rent-A-Hitman: Your Point & Click Solution is a parody website that I have up and running.

Believe it or not, I get a fair amount of ???? traffic from that site alone - not to mention interesting email inquiries and in some cases - solicitations.

I think I'm going to list the mis-typed domain up here on DNForum in the next couple of hours.

OH, and I have already signed the PETITION regarding the absurd Snowe Bill. That whole idea sickens me. Just my $0.02
