Why not just colapse them? They are crucial being at the top when updates are made everyone will see them.

I don't browse the individual forums often. I usually just click "Today's Posts". So, forum ordering, etc. will have little impact.

I can see why he suggested it to be at the bottom alot of forums have it at the bottom of their message boards.
