May i know what is the purpose of multiple registrar accredidation?

Eg. I think GoDaddy has 3 ICANN Registrar Accredidation
Directi has 2 ICANN Registrar Accredidation

Or did i misunderstand something?

Where are you seeing this?

It's probably either from buying competitors or so they can have more bandwidth to the registry for catching drops.

GoDaddy is all i know of.

They have:
Godaddy, WildWestDomains and BlueRazor.

In GoDaddy's instance, the only thing I can see is maybe for chasing drops.
Each reg GoDaddy has uses the same interface, so I don't see any other reason, other than having 3 connections into the registry at droptime.

dotster has 3.
dotster, namesdirect, newdentity, all ICANN accredited separately.

GD, WWD, BlueRazor - Same management 3 accredidation.
Directi, Transecute - Same management 2 accredidation.

I guess it is probably for the reason to catch domain.

Dotster owns those?

I just assumed that they were partners.

Good to know
