So I was looking for a bunch of tools to help my bulk registration schemes and came across TextMechanic(.)com

Pretty sweet tool in my opinion!

Here are just the basics of what it does, it has so many more options:
Basic Text Tools:
Add Prefix
Suffix into LineAdd
Remove Line Breaks
Count Characters, Words...

Column Extractor
Find and Replace Text
Letter Case Converter
Merge Text (Line by Line)
Remove Duplicate Lines
Remove Empty Lines
Remove Extra Spaces

A lot of these, if not all, can be accomplished using Excel and Word functions and/or macros.

If you got the knowledge of the functions/macros already, it's much quicker. If not, take the easy way out.

(Just hurting yourself if a job down the line requires use of such functions and you say you know how to use Excel/Word, but can't do this in it)

Ah, while that may be true, it seems this website is much faster at processing my request than excel or word is...especially when i'm doing it for over 50k different lines. This site handled a 200k line in less than a second. Made my life so much less stressful haha

Word: Find/Replace ^p with nothing.

Excel: fx =LEN(CELL)
=IF(LEN(TRIM(CELL))=0,0,LEN(TRIM(CELL))-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(CELL," ",""))+1)

Depends on your computer, if you have a 133mhz processor, may take forever. If you have dual core or above with some ghz behind it, these functions can work faster and improve your KSA's.

Kinda like a calculator, you know? Use this tool and you're dependent on it. Learn how to use a calculator and you can't do 52 + 89 + 26 longhand.
