Hello here,

Sorry for the noob question but I wonder if I miss something.
I see lots of domain sellers offering domains with "the", "your", "my" and other prefixes/suffixes.

To me, these domains seem useless, lets take ipadexamples :
- youripad.com : no one types "your ipad" direct or google search .. so completely useless to me..
- myipad.com : more chances to get direct type in visitor, however, it seems that search engines cut off stopwords like "my", "and" ... so seems useless to
- theipad.com : exactly like "my" ...

I am sure you get what I mean, could someone explain me the interest ?

Thanks for your time

Simply put, only 1% of the domain supply is valuable and I'm being generous.
You're correct, many names have no particular value.
By the way, ipad = tm, that makes the domain even less valuable.

Some people may use 'my', 'you'r or 'the' because they cannot afford the generic term by itself.

For e.g. Home.com would be worth a lot more money than myhome.com.

These names are okay if they are developed and are short and easy to remember.

In terms of if these names get any attention really depends on the quality of the name.

I haven't bother registering or buying many of these, but others may have more experience in this area.

Some names can actually be brandable eg. myhome.
