Ok, well I've done a few things that have put me on track to become a domain name grabber, but I need some help. Anything is greatly appreciated. Here's what I've done:

1) Found this forum (invaluable resource)
2) Subscribed to Exody

Here's what I need:

What now. I have a register I use (namebargain), but I need to know what to do now. I get a list from Exody, and am lost. I don't have a basement full of computers or whiz bang php scripts set to hammer the registers. Is there any chance an "outsider" can grab good names? Do I need to check the names I like against the registers every hour? More/Less frequently? Is there a time or way to check it better?

I really would appreciate any help. Basically I'm looking for a beginners guide to domain grabbing. Something like ExpireFish is bad you should do it by hand. Or SnapNames is the way to go. I'm looking for a way to jump into this world feet first, and any help would be great.

PS: I got my first two names:

killershark.com
spinaround.com

These are ok names, but what do I need to do to get the good ones?

Thanks so much for reading.

Me too... Good names are hard to get. People are not going to share their secrets and cut their own throats. . .

If you do your homework, you can figure out everything you need.

Best of luck!

i'm not asking anyone to "cut their own throats", and this is doing homework. Basically, I'm asking how things work.

How do I go about selling a name?
What are some pitfalls?
What are some helpful hints?

I know this is a secretive business (a lot like SEO), but if someone were to ask SEO questions people would help them out. There's a difference between giving up secrets, and helping a person get started. Just MHO.

Good start - just take your time and don't rush. Avoid buying domains for sale - untill you see what domains are actually "sellable"
