Beautiful day today. Wife and I decided to go hiking with a couple of our dogs. Always fearful of this sniffing something out. Luckily, I found this before they did.

Latin species is Amanita muscaria. It is poisonous and toxic, although doesn't kill too many people but could have been deadly to my dogs. Plus, it is also one hell of a hallucinogenic, although I was not willing to try.

This was one of the smaller one budding up through the leaves.

Well...I'll be hiking again tomorrow with a different dog or two. We'll see what I can uncover. Beautiful weather.

In North Carolina. Mild weather with low humidity which is a welcomed change.

Hah, I just left North Carolina. I was stationed at Fort Bragg. The humidity there is brutal.

Right now, perhaps 0-10% humidity which makes being outside so nice.
