well, i definitely don't think google originally envisioned PR becoming the commodity it is. whether they combat that by removing public page rank and/or by penalizing both sellers and buyers of text link ads is yet to be seen.

Fact is, all the schemes to get PR are screwing up Googles results so much, they want webmasters to turn in sites that are selling it. TARGETED high PR links are far from worthless.
