I have a drop list on my site, and I just got the 2nd email this week asking to remove a domain that they had registered in June, and now want the name out of the drop list. I did not create the list, it is created by another company, and published on my site, so the one I just got today was for a name that dropped in March and reged again in June.

Here is the google link:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&sa=G&q="HOSTITWISE.COM"

Please note that our domain is active and provide legimate web hosting services. Domain is http://www.hostitwise.com and http://www.hostitwise.net

Regards,
(name deleted) PhD
Lucent Technologies

the other guy said that I could be liable to hurting his business

Yes, it was registered once before, to http://www.e-ladder.com - check it out.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://elader.com this is the Wayback Machine (archive.org) that shows that E-Ladder used to own the domain.

And i don't see how that could hurt your business that you have a name once used as a typo for this company. BTW, I'm not the only person who publishes these lists.See this link:
http://www.google.com/search?q="ELADER.com"&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N

In fact, doing some more research, the domain ELADERS.COM also droped the same day

http://www.sedo.com/search/details.php4?language=us&domain=elader.com&partnerid=17505

This domain is also listed for sale in Sedo.com. I think you need to call Sedo, and have them remove that listing, as the name is not owned by the e-latter people anymore. Here is Sedo's number in Germany: +49.2214207580

I hope you don't waste your time on me, as I just spend some time researching this for you, and I have better things to do.

The domain was not created until 26th June 2005, therefore, I need you to edit your list to remove my domain, you could be held liable for hurting my business.

Best Regards,

ok, I did some research and it appears that the name was deleted on 04-08-05, and then you registered it in the end of June.

I think that's absurd.

I'd remove it if they asked nicely, if they are going to threaten.. then I'd just leave it. It's not like they could really do anything.

the owner is too arrogant to be a business man. How could he make money by this attitude?
