Find a day ones a year to donate blood and join the stem cell and marrow network.

For Canadians is: OneMatch.ca - stem cell and marrow network

Use google to find your local clinic.

Someone out their is fighting cancer, a terminal disease and your DNA could be a match to save his or her life. Just imagine the power and energy of saving a life toward your good deed. You may or may not save his or her life, but your donation will give that individual an extra chance in living.

Show yourself that you are not selfish and that you can spare some of your life to making a donation.

God Bless You All

I received a mail from Canadian Blood Services informing me about the stem cell and marrow network. I signed up and know how important this is to loved ones. I have a brother who may be using my stem cell for his fight against cancer. I was told I was a match and unfortunately only 30% of those in need will find a match in their family.

A stranger or not, we are all one. One for All, All for One!

Hope,

That is a great idea. Giving our blood, our cells, to someone can improve a person's chances of survival.

If we are permitted to do so.

There are those that would very much like to donate, but hospitals, etc. will not accept the donation because the person has a terminal illness (even if currently in remission), has undergone chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and has a severely compromised immune system. Along with the good they would be giving the bad, and I have learned that hospitals, etc. have not yet developed the technology needed to eliminate the harmful components from blood or cells.

For healthy persons, such donations are an excellent idea, and the donations are greatly needed and appreciated.

I agree with the content of the post, and would strongly encourage all individuals that can do so to donate blood, cells, or organs to those that need them. Taking the brief time out of our lives to do this may very well allow someone else to live.

That is what it is all about. People helping people.
